Community of Care – Illness Guidelines:
😷 Wear a face covering if you’re recovering from illness. Masks are strongly encouraged, especially during peak illness seasons, to protect our community.
🤒 Duty to Self-Monitor: Stay home if you’re feeling sick, even with mild symptoms, to reduce the risk of spreading illness.
🧼 Wash or sanitize your hands regularly with soap and water or an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
Consent & Safety:
✨ This is a queer-centered space where allies are welcome as long as they respect and uplift our community. Consent is mandatory in all interactions – ask before dancing with or touching anyone, and respect when someone says no.
💛 We are committed to creating a safe, affirming, and inclusive environment for everyone to be their full selves without fear of harm or discrimination.
House Dance as Social Practice Workshop by Amber Julian
✨ Wednesday, April 4|2-3:30 PM
✨ Wednesday, February 25 | 2-3:30 PM
Step into the roots of House dance as a joyful, social, and community-centered form grounded in Black and Queer club dance lineages. In this workshop, you’ll explore groove, footwork, and musicality through jacking, freestyle principles, and rhythmic exchange.
Moving beyond set choreography, we’ll focus on presence, connection, and improvisation — learning how to listen to the music and each other. Partner work is introduced as an extension of social dance traditions, emphasizing flow, shared energy, and dancing together.
Open to all levels. Come as you are, bring your flavor, and get ready to connect, and move in community.
