At In Lak’ech Dance Academy, we are more than just a dance studio—we are a home for the queer and trans BIPOC community to move, connect, and grow through Afro-Latin dance. Train with World Champions Angelica & Jahaira in this 9-week intermediate-level journey designed to deepen your technique, musicality, and confidence in both Bachata and Salsa On1!
This 9-week journey (18 hours) is all about building confidence, connection, and pure dance joy. This series is designed for dancers with 6+ months of Salsa and/or Bachata experience who are ready to keep growing their foundation and level up in community.

- 6:00–7:00 PM – Bachata Intermediate
- 7:15–8:15 PM – Salsa On1 Intermediate

We accept 30 students in each series. It is based on a first come first serve basis.
How many students are in the series?
We recommend that folks wear their masks. Please do share with Angélica and Jahaira any access needs that you might have so you can be supported to participate fully in class.
What is your Covid policy?

No, you are required to have a partner. We will be rotating partners in class.
Do I need a partner to join?
We do not offer refunds for any reason. However, your class registration can be transferred to another person if you cannot attend. Please email us at inlakechdance@gmail.com for more information.
What is your refund policy?
Yes, this series is for someone who has little to absolutely no experience dancing Bachata and or Salsa. However, if you have experience and want to brush up on your basic fundamentals, this series is for you too.
Is this series for beginners only?
Yes, we do! We never want money to stop someone from dancing. Please email us at inlakechdance@gmail.com to set up a payment plan.
Do we offer a payment plan?
If you have the time and resources to take both series, then go for it! Please be aware that you are committing yourself to 3 hours of dancing each week plus any extra rehearsal on your own.
Do you recommend we take both Salsa/Bachata series or just one series?
Our Bachata and Salsa series takes place once a week in Oakland for 60-90 minutes, depending on the Series Level you join. We offer series' that range from 12-weeks, 8-weeks, and 6-weeks.
